This morning session will explore what it means to be both alert and steady, but also light and comfortable, while practicing Yoga. How is it possible to be both grounded and light in posture and pranayama?

Half-Day Workshop Information
A keen interest in Yoga and some experience of Yoga is essential (but you don't need to be an expert).
The emphasis of these mornings is on exploring a yoga practice in a little more depth, but in a very informal and light hearted way. You will not need to take notes, unless you wish to, a copy of the lesson plan will be provided for you as a handout, but you will need a yoga mat and a sense of humour.
Refreshments are included.
Time : Arrivals from 9.30 am for a 10am Start, & finishing at 1pm
Venue : Sylvania Community Hall, adjacent to the junction between Stoke Hill and Collins Road.

Who is this course for?
This course is for students with a minimum of two years experience of yoga from any background or tradition. This course is suitable for students wishing to continue on to teacher training or for those wishing to deepen their personal practice.
You will need a commitment to personal practice.
In addition to the core syllabus this course will emphasise the use and importance of the breath during practice, simple home practice planning skills and the relevance of Patanjali's Yoga Sutra.
A certificate will be awarded on completion of this course.
A certificate is reliant upon a minimum attendance rate of 80%.

You will need to bring a yoga mat and a block if you need one (I do carry some blocks with me). Please bring a pen and paper with you, a course file will be provided.

The cost of this course is £400. Plus a £45 registration fee payable to the BWY. A non-refundable deposit of £160 is required before the course starts and this will be set against the last four meetings. All meetings must be paid for even if not attended.

This course has only one set book - “The Heart of Yoga” by TKV Desikachar. You may also choose to purchase a copy of Swami Satchidananda’s commentary on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.

Who is this course for?
This course is for students with a minimum of two years experience of yoga from any background or tradition. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed a BWY or similar Foundation Course. You will need a commitment to the study and personal practice of Yoga, and a real desire to teach. It is estimated that you will need to set aside a half-day a week for home study. This is in addition to regular attendance at a suitable yoga class and any class teaching that you undertake later in the course.
A BWY Teaching Diploma will be awarded on completion of this course.
A certificate is reliant upon a minimum attendance rate of 80%.

This is a warm and comfortable venue with plentiful parking and good disabled facilities.

Jane is a qualified yoga teacher and was awarded a teaching diploma by the British Wheel of Yoga in 2001.
In addition, she has studied with Paul Harvey, for six years; completing the four year yoga teaching and therapy course with Paul for the Association of Yoga Studies (formerly Viniyoga Britain) in 2006 as well as two years Further Study completing Paul’s cYs Post Graduate Training in 2008.
Jane is currently a Diploma Course Tutor for the BWY, a senior teacher with the aYs, and she runs Foundation Level Training and In-Service-Training days for the BWY and aYs.
